Jimmy Reeves

Jimmy graduated from Arab High School in 1978 and has lived here most of his life. He has always had a love for music and knew at a young age that he wanted to sing. In high school, his favorite singers, Jim Croce and James Taylor, became major influences on the style of music he enjoyed playing and singing. Through the years, Jimmy has sang and played in weddings, private parties and restaurants in the area.

Jimmy accepted Christ in 1977 and from that moment his love for Christian music has grown. He has sang and led worship in a number of churches in the Arab area and has assisted various churches develop their contemporary service. A few years ago, Jimmy was approached by Arab First United Methodist Church about leading worship in a new contemporary service they were interested in starting. After serving about three years, he took a break to pursue other areas of ministry and within the last 2 years has returned leading the AFUMC contemporary service again.

Jimmy met his wife Sharron, who sings with the worship band, in high school and has been in love with her ever since. They have three children, Hannah, Emma and Jesse. Hannah passed away in 1988 from heart complications just a few hours after birth and is now in Heaven with their Lord. Emma is an Arab High School math teacher and Jesse is studying to become a worship pastor at Highlands College in Birmingham.

Jimmy loves spending time with Sharron and the kids, riding his motorcycle, watching the Auburn Tigers, writing music, playing his guitar, and sharing and worshipping his God through song.
