Brian Quillin is quite a “music man” in the Arab community. He is our Director of Music in addition to being a full-time music educator. During the week, he directs the Choral and Musical Theatre program at Arab High School, home to AMT (Arab Musical Theatre).
Brian grew up in Huntsville and is a 1995 graduate of Lee High School, where he was fortunate to have learned from some of the best choral directors in the state of Alabama. He met his wife Jessica at Lee High School, and they have been together ever since.
He continued his love of music at the University of Montevallo, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance and a Master’s degree in Choral Education. Throughout his ministry and teaching career, Brian has worked to build a high school theatre program that would receive national recognition. In 2010, they were selected as the top high school theatre program in the Southeastern United States by Stage Directions Magazine. Brian also serves as a national adjudicator for the Educational Theatre Association.
Brian joined Arab First UMC as the choir director in 1999 and loves to bring out the best in the gifted and talented artists of our church.
Did You Know …
Brian’s wife Jessica sits on the front row of the church choir (somebody has to keep him straight). Brian and Jessica have two wonderful children, and he loves being a dad. He is a big “Roll Tide” fan. He also teaches private voice lessons on the side.
If you would like some pointers on finding your “head voice,” have some Alabama tickets to spare, or want to talk about music and arts at Arab First UMC, get in touch with Brian at 256-586-5792 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
