IF:Gathering 2018 (February 9-10) What IF we followed God with perseverance instead of insecurity? At IF:Gathering 2018, we will look at one of Paul’s letters to Timothy as he reminded him of the power and responsibly of sharing the gospel. We want to give God away in the very places He’s put us, so we’re going to gather for the purpose of remembering why following God and making disciples matters. We all get tired, we all wonder if what we’re doing matters, so IF:Gathering 2018 will be the reminder- it will be the celebration. The work we’re doing to share the gospel on the earth is worth it and God DOES move through the little things that nobody sees.

Join us on Friday, February 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, February 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for IF:Arab, our IF:Local in the fellowship hall here at AFUMC. This two-day event is a livestream of IF:Gathering 2018 in the comfort of our own community. Bring a friend and prepare your heart for a life-changing experience. You can find the schedule of events on the IF:Arab Facebook page and on the church website. Questions? Contact Brooke Hemphill at 256-640-3292.

We are able to provide this event for free on the faith that God will provide what is needed to do so. We ask that you please register online, and if you are able, give a donation:

“Discerning the Voice of God” Thursday Bible Study – “Is that you, God?” Have you asked that question before? Maybe many times.  How do we know if it’s God speaking to us or just our own wants and desires making themselves known? It’s called discernment……being able to discern the voice of God from all the other voices we hear. On January 18th a new study by Priscilla Shirer will be offered entitled “Discerning the Voice of God”. Nancy Stewart will lead this seven week study each Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. in class room 101. As Shirer explains, “God desires a personal relationship with each of us in which He speaks directly to us. The more intimate your relationship with Him, the clearer God’s voice becomes!” If you have questions or need a book, contact Nancy Stewart at 256/586-0351.
