New Wednesday night study to start November 15 – Join Sharron Reeves in room 117 at 6:00 p.m. beginning Wednesday, November 15 and invest time in understanding the emotions found in God’s heart for you so your own heart can experience a glorious awakening as you commune with God.  King David was many things–shepherd, poet, warrior, murderer and adulterer. And yet, he was called “a man after God’s own heart.” In After God’s Own Heart, author Mike Bickle explores what David did that allowed him to commune powerfully with the Lord, and shows how you too can be “after God’s own heart.”  Both men and women are invited to this study.

Young-In-Heart – For our annual Thanksgiving meeting, Young-In-Heart, the Senior Adult Ministry of AFUMC will gather at 11 AM, November 16, in the church fellowship hall for a day of Christian fellowship, fun, entertainment and food. Entertainment will be provided by Toe the Line and our own Amanda Hollrah.  We will also once again enjoy a rousing Gospel singalong led by Wayne Kendrick. A Thanksgiving luncheon prepared by Chef Terry Z will be provided, funded from your YIH dues.  Guests and new members please bring $7 for each meal. Please sign up for this meeting by Sunday, November 12th.

Faithful:  Christmas Through the Eyes of Joseph by Adam Hamilton – This class begins Sunday, November 19 at 10:55a.m. in room 125 with Chris Hemphill facilitating.  (Distribution of books will begin on Sunday, November 12.)  For his part in the nativity story, Joseph faced a situation much like our own – encountering life circumstances he did not choose or understand. In Faithful, the author encourages readers to follow Joseph’s example during this Advent and Christmas season, and exchange doubt for courage as we learn to accept and glorify God’s will.

Room in the Inn – The UMM will once again be coordinating with the Marshall County Homeless Ministries as we will be a host site for Room in the Inn.  We will be housing our neighbors on five separate nights this winter. The dates are 11/26, 12/24, 1/28, 2/25, and 3/25.  If anyone is willing to assist in this worthwhile endeavor, please contact Marc Scarborough and John Richey.
