Church Council/Charge Conference Meetings Today! – Church Council will have a meeting at 2:00PM today. Following this meeting, we will also have a Charge Conference Meeting at 3:00PM in the sanctuary. Eleven churches will be involved in the 3:00 meeting.

Leftover Halloween candy and treats?  Christmas and Beyond will gladly accept donations of sweets to help you out! You can leave the sweets in the church office.

Holy Communion on Election Day – Pastor Steve will be serving “Come and Go” holy communion in the sanctuary on Election Day, November 8th, from 7:30am – 9:00am. Quiet music will continuously be playing and you can come, sit, pray, and come forward to receive when you are ready. What a great way to pray for our nation and to give all things to God as you prepare to vote. Come and be blessed anytime between 7:30am – 9:00am.

The Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Collection Week is November 14-21, 2016. Information will be provided in the weekly church bulletins. For detailed information you may also access the website:

Operation Christmas Child RELAY CENTER Help – We need volunteers to be available to collect shoeboxes brought in by members and area churches.  The collection day’s task is to greet and thank donors, just be the friendly face at our church.  There is a sign-up sheet on the sign up table for collection days and the transport day.  Transport day is where we box up the shoeboxes into bigger boxes and take them to Albertville.  Please sign up to support this ministry.

Community Thanksgiving Service – Join community pastors and churches for a community Thanksgiving Service sponsored by the Arab Ministerial Association. It will be on Sunday, November 20th at 6:00PM at Old Brashiers Chapel UMC with the pastor of Eastside Baptist Church preaching. Bring a side dish to share in the community meal afterward!

Room in the Inn Volunteers will be needed on 11/27, 12/25, 1/29, 2/26, and 3/26. We will need setup crew, van/bus driver, overnight host, food crew, and activities director. We are asking each Sunday school class to sponsor the meals (supper, breakfast and a snack).  Please contact John Richey at 256-931-6088 or Marc Scarbrough at 256-714-4627 to help.

The supper menu for Wednesday Night, November 9th is a special meal for Veteran’s Day. This will include smoked turkey, mashedpotatoes/gravy, dressing, pinto beans, creamed corn, turnip greens, rolls, and desserts.

Communion is served in the Prayer Chapel each Sunday morning between services (9:00 – 9:15) and (10:30 – 10:45)

Cookies for ChristAs part of our ServeFest outreach ministries, we will again be organizing teams of two to take a gift of fresh cookies, along with an invitational brochure with information on the local churches in the area, to the families of those who have moved into Arab this year. It is not traditional “visitation”, but a simple, at-the-door expression of God’s love. This year, it will be a stand-alone event and each team will be given a smaller number of homes so that it can be completed in about an hour and a half. Signup sheets will be on the Hospitality Table for teams of two. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it’s a way of sharing love with someone. We will gather to go at 2:00PM on Sunday, November 20th.

Jennifer Saunders’ Bake Sale – The bake sale takes place on November 20th after each service on Sunday morning in the foyer of both upstairs entrances.  All donations will go towards Jennifer Saunders’ mission work in Spain.  If anyone is interested in helping with baking, they can contact Jennifer at 256-640-7456 or on Facebook.  They would welcome baked goods donations.

Christmas Parade Float – We are needing volunteers to help with the construction of our float for the Christmas Parade. This will take place on November 27th through November 30th at 5:30PM to 8:00PM each night. We will need white inexpensive napkins for part of the float design. Donation containers will be in the foyer near both entrance doors. Please have all napkins turned in by November 23rd. Some other donations we are needing are: life-size, or as large as possible artificial outdoor manger animals, volunteers to provide a meal for float construction workers on Nov. 28th and Nov. 29th, and   volunteers to be on the float or have your children on the float. For more information or to participate, contact Lee Michael at 256-586-5792.
