“The Silence and the Sound” is our annual Christmas cantata with choir and orchestra, today, at 10:55am and Monday, December 21st, at 7:00pm. Bring a friend and share the joy!

We are hosting Room in the Inn tonight and we are always looking for volunteers. We are still looking for a Sunday School class to prepare meals for our March session. If interested, contact Marc Scarborough or John Richey.

Church office hours during the holidays are as follows: Monday & Tuesday, December 21st – 22nd 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
Wednesday, December 23rd 8:00 am – 12:00 pm (noon)
Monday – Wednesday, December 28th, 29th & 30th – 8:00 am – 12:00 pm (noon)

Our Christmas Eve Offering this year will go to missions! It will be split between the United Methodist Children’s Home’s White Christmas offering, our upcoming Ghana Mission Trip, and remaining missions that were not able to be funded by our budget. Please give generously on Christmas Eve!

We will be delivering donuts on Christmas Eve Day to businesses that stay open for our community on Christmas Eve. It is our way of saying “Thank You” for the service they provide. Altar flowers 2016 – If you would like to place flowers in the sanctuary in memory or honor of someone, please call or come by the church office (256-586-5792). You can choose between Buddy’s Flowers or Scott’s Urban Earth. The following dates are available January 3rd, 17th, 24th, 31st February 7th, 14th, 21st, & 28th.

Study Committee Report Approved, Building Committee Coming Soon! In a historic moment, our Church Council approved the Study Committee final report at our recent Charge Conference. The report dutifully outlines the needs of the church and community, our projected growth, and the desires of the congregation for a future building project. The Church Council voted unanimously to establish a Building Committee. We’d love to share the report with you! You can access it online from the top banner of our church web page ( There are a few paper copies in the church office.

Accepting Building Committee Volunteers! If you would like to serve on the Building Committee we will be organizing in January, please contact the church office. Candidates need to be active members of the church and willing to meet regularly until a proposed building project is completed.

Book Club is reading War Room-Prayer is a Powerful Weapon this month. Discussion of the book will be January 5, 2016 at noon downstairs in Sisters in Christ classroom. Bring a bag lunch and share your thoughts about this wonderful book. Copies of the book are available in the church office. Suggested donation is $8. Contact Joyce Marcotte for further information.

Shirley Chupp has prepared a cookbook that contains the favorite recipes from churches in Marshall County that have hosted our neighbors as a part of Room in the Inn. It contains 250 recipes and costs $20. All proceeds go to the Marshall County Homeless Ministry. If interested, please contact the church office. They should be available by the New Year.

New Sunday School Class! Start the new year with a new study and class! Come January 3rd to room 103 at 9:30 am for study intro and beginning class activities. The study entitled Love & Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs will start on January 10th. Facilitators are Josh and Mary Shumate for this class suitable for couples as well as individuals.

To Our Church Family, thank you for prayers, support, food, and comfort during this sudden loss of my wife of 56 years. I am comforted knowing I will be reunited with her again someday and appreciate the outpouring of love from my church and pastors.
