SECOND “COOKIES FOR CHRIST” on November 15 – We will again be organizing teams of two to take a gift of fresh cookies, along with an invitational brochure with information on the local churches in the area, to the families of those who have moved into Arab this year. It is not traditional “visitation”, but a simple, at-the-door expression of God’s love. This year, it will be a stand-alone event and each team will be given a small number of homes so that it can be completed in about an hour and a half. “Cookies for Christ” will be on Sunday, November 15, at 2:30 p.m. Signup sheets are on the Hospitality Table for teams of two. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it’s a way of sharing love with someone.

Children in grades 1st – 5th grade are invited to a series of acolyte training classes on Wednesday from 5:30-6:00 pm (November 18th, December 2nd & 16th).

The Young-in-Heart’s Annual Thanksgiving covered dish dinner will be November 19th at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Turkey, dressing and gravy will be provided along with rolls and cranberry sauce. Please bring a dish to fill out the meal. A sign-up-list is located on the Hospitality Desk. The B-Team Angels have been invited as guests.

Advent and Christmas Decoration schedule – It’s hard to believe, but we’re fast approaching the time to put up our beautiful Chrismon tree and all the accompanying decorations. Mark your calendars for 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 22nd and come help bring all the decoration from the storage house to the church. Guys and gals mark your calendars for 9:00 am, Tuesday, November 24th and come anytime that morning and help as long as you can to make our sanctuary beautiful for the blessed Advent and Christmas seasons.

Sarah Thompson and Ben James joyfully request the honor of your presence at their wedding on December 19th at 4:30 pm at Estes Chapel, Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky. Please RSVP in the church office.

Thanks to everyone who helped make our Ghana fundraiser dinner a success. Whether you bought a ticket or an auction item, decorated a table, or donated an item for the auction, you are appreciated. Your continued support, as the team prepares for this first-ever trip from our church to the Eugemot Orphanage in Ghana, is important and appreciated. Please check out our team table in the Fellowship Hall for additional information on how you can get involved, We have t-shirts and ornaments for sale and a registry of items we need for the trip. There will be bins located upstairs and down for donated items and a list is available on our table. Keep an eye on the progress as our team raises money for the barn project by watching the Lego barn on our table in the Fellowship Hall. You can also see how far along the team is towards raising funds to pay for their trip by looking for the Lego people who are still trying to “catch the plane”. There is a Lego person representing each team member. If you have questions regarding donations of items or funds you can contact Brian and Lois O’Dell at for more information. Thanks, Lois
