Christmas poinsettias are here! They can still be purchased in honor or memory of loved ones by completing the envelope located in the church office or hospitality desk. The cost is $12 per poinsettia with proceeds going to the youth ministries at Arab First United Methodist Church.

The Annual Children’s Christmas Program is this Wednesday night, December 17th, at 6:00, following our last Wednesday Night Supper of the year. The whole church family is invited to come and express our incredible support for the AFUMC children! They will be expressing their faith and spreading Christmas cheer through movement, drama, music, and the arts. Don’t miss it!

Young-in-Heart Christmas Dinner will be Dec. 18th at 6:00 pm. Terry Zakrzewski will cater the meal. Be sure to see the menu at the Hospitality Desk. Pre-sold tickets are $10 each. See Janet Calhoun for tickets (256-586-8413). Steve West will lead the singing.

Chancel Choir Cantata will be performing “The Christmas Story: A Classic Carol Celebration,” Sunday, December 21st at 10:55 am and Monday, December 22nd at 7:00 pm.

Christmas Eve Communion will be at Noon, 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm; Please invite family, friends, and strangers to join with you for this special time of worship. The noon service will be “come and go”, 4:00 pm will be contemporary service, and 7:00 pm will be a traditional service.

Ushers, greeters, or communion servers are needed for Christmas Eve Communion please contact Debby (256-797-4648), Jami (256-586-7696), or the church office (256-586-5792) if you are willing to serve.

Donut ServeFest: On the morning of December 24th we will once again be delivering donuts to our local businesses and public servants that will be serving our community. Due to our awesome members, our delivery teams are full. But if you have any suggestions for a business that we can deliver to please contact Terry Z (256-486-5183).

Christmas Day Pot Luck Dinner December 25th, AFUMC Fellowship Hall. Are you alone this Christmas, an empty nester, not up to preparing a whole dinner, or so full of the Christmas spirit but have no one to share it with? Come join us on Christmas Day to celebrate the birth of our Savior. Turkey, dressing and beverages will be provided, you bring the side dishes and desserts. Come early to enjoy traditional holiday movies starting at 12:30 pm. Dinner will be served at 3:00 pm. Everyone is invited. For more information call Jim Saunders at 256-200-6184.

The Christmas Eve Offering will go to support missions in Arab and around the world. The offering will go to Blessings in a Backpack, Imagine No Maleria, and the White Christmas Offering which supports the United Methodist Children’s Home.

Room in the Inn volunteers are needed for the following dates: December 30th – Tuesday, January 31st – Saturday, February 8th – Sunday, March 29th- Sunday, and March 31st – Tuesday. End of the Year Contributions all contributions received after 12/31/14 will be posted to your 2015 giving statement. If you are making designated gifts remember to mark those clearly on your check. Thank you for your faithfulness in giving.
