In His Service,
Sunday Mornings: Sunday School, Children’s Church, great places to learn
On Sundays, we provide the opportunity for your child to attend Sunday School 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. We use Cokesbury’s Deep Blue Curriculum for age two years through fifth grade. Children age three and younger meet in the nursery rooms off the hallway on the main floor level near the sanctuary. Children four years through fifth grade meet in the classrooms downstairs.
During the 10:55 a.m. service, we host a children’s moment at the front of the sanctuary for children of all ages. Following this brief, interactive program, children first grade and younger are welcome to attend Children’s Church downstairs in Room 120 (K-1 Room). During Children’s Church, youngsters do various activities including crafts, puzzles, games, listening to a Bible story, or watching Bible-based video.
For more information about Sunday School and Children’s Church, contact Heather Tallent, Children’s Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or the church office at 256-586-5792.
Kindergarten — Fifth Grade invited to JAAM on Wednesdays
Children entering Kindergarten – Fifth Grade are invited to join us for Jesus, Arts And Me (JAAM) Wednesdays 3 to 5 p.m. in the church fellowship hall during the school year. The purpose of JAAM is to teach children about worship and praising God. It is also to prepare them to lead AFUMC members in worship at least once a month.
JAAM leaders send out a newsletter weekly that indicates which week the children will share in worship. The goal is to have JAAM children participate in service on the second Sunday of the month. By having your child participate in JAAM, you are asked to commit to having your child attend the sharing services once a month as well as the Christmas and Spring programs.
Parents may drop off their children for JAAM or students who attend Arab City Schools are eligible to ride the bus from school to AFUMC. More information about JAAM can be obtained by picking up a JAAM Registration form, which is available at the AFUMC office.
For more details, contact Debby Heidt, Worship and Creative Arts Co-Director, at email@example.com, Jami Russell, Worship and Creative Arts Co-Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact the church office at 256-586-5792.
