Our mission for the children of Arab First United Methodist Church is to provide a safe, fun learning environment for your child to grow and expand his or her faith in Christ. We reach out to children with open hearts, open minds, and open doors. All adults who are interacting with your child during activities have undergone a thorough background check. Your child will be under supervision of a minimum of two adults during any event.
On Sundays, we provide opportunity for your child to attend Sunday School. We use Hands On Bible Curriculum for ages 2 years old through 5th grade. Children under the age of 5 meet in the nursery area Sunday School rooms. Children 5 years through 5th grade meet in the classrooms downstairs . There are signs next to each room showing which class your child should be in. Sunday School is from 9:30-10:30. For children whose parents are in Sunday School at 10:45, they may attend Children’s Church. Otherwise, Children’s Church is for children 3 years old to 2nd grade after the children’s minute of the 10:55 service. All children 3rd grade and above remain in the sanctuary for the service.
Wednesday night activities are from 5:30-7:00. For a small donation, the church serves supper at 5:00. Wednesday night activities consist of lessons, games, crafts, snacks, handbells, signing, God Rods, puppets, and choir time. Wednesday nights are where the children practice for the Christmas Program and the Spring Program. Wednesday nights are for all children ages 3 years old through 5th grade. There are adult and youth ministries being held at the same time, so the night is for the whole church family.
We hold Vacation Bible School for a week each summer. We often hold summer activities for children as well. We have a Christmas Children’s program and a Spring Program prior to the end of school. Summer camps are available through Camp Sumatanga. We participate in the community Fall Festival in late October each year.
