Items from Ghana Silent Auction & Thank you – The Ghana Mission Team has a table of items for sale, additional items left from the silent auction. They are out front today. Also, the Ghana Mission Team thanks everyone who participated in our Shrimp & Crawfish Boil last Sunday. We hope everyone enjoyed the fun. We raised almost $2,000 thanks to your food & silent auction purchases. We also appreciate those who made a donation. We could not be successful without your support. A special thanks to Shannon Hill, Kelly Scarbrough and all the team members who worked so hard!

Please donate to our new Chrismon tree! One of the traditions of our church is our Chrismon tree. The one we have has been faithful for 17 years, but alas, it’s time to retire. We are taking this opportunity to upgrade to a new commercial quality tree to beautify our sanctuary during Advent and Christmas. It is a 14 foot fir that is pre-lit and easy to put together, with a five year warranty on the lights. In addition to improved appearance, it will be much easier to work with. We were able to find one for less than wholesale due to a special church discount. If you’d like to donate, mark your check for “Chrismon tree.”
New Wednesday night study to start November 15 – Join Sharron Reeves in room 117 at 6:00 p.m. beginning Wednesday, November 15 and invest time in understanding the emotions found in God’s heart for you so your own heart can experience a glorious awakening. King David was many things–shepherd, poet, warrior, murderer and adulterer. And yet, he was called “a man after God’s own heart.” In After God’s Own Heart, author Mike Bickle explores what David did that allowed him to commune with the Lord, and shows how you too can be “after God’s own heart.” Both men and women are invited.
Young-In-Heart – For our annual Thanksgiving meeting, Young-In-Heart, will gather at 11 AM, November 16, in the church fellowship. Entertainment will be provided by Toe the Line and our own Amanda Hollrah. We will also enjoy a rousing Gospel singalong led by Wayne Kendrick. A Thanksgiving luncheon prepared by Terry Z will be provided, funded from your YIH dues. Guests and new members please bring $7 for each meal. Please sign up for by Sunday, November 12th.
Faithful: Christmas Through the Eyes of Joseph by Adam Hamilton – This class begins Sunday, November 19 at 10:55a.m. in room 125 with Chris Hemphill facilitating. (Distribution of books will begin on Sunday, November 12.) For his part in the nativity story, Joseph faced a situation much like our own – encountering life circumstances he did not choose or understand. In Faithful, the author encourages readers to follow Joseph’s example during this Advent and Christmas season, and exchange doubt for courage.
