Nicky James Appointed as Our Associate Pastor – Our prayers and appreciation go to Roy and Kathy Bryant as he retires from ministry to focus on his health. Roy will serve as our associate pastor until the end of June. We are happy that Rev. Nicky James has been appointed as our new associate pastor. Nicky and Lynn are the parents of our former ministry intern Ben James, and for the past five years he has been serving as part-time local pastor of Bethel UMC in Eva. His first Sunday with us will be July 2. Welcome, Nicky and Lynn!
Site Development Proposal – The Building Committee’s proposed site development plan is on display in the gathering area for review and discussion.
We are considering three future phases, but can build the first two in either order, with the third phase being a family life center. The following are our options for the first phase:
The first option is the two story building, which would house nursery, preschool, and children on the top floor and youth on the bottom. This would create new adult classes and a choir suite in former children’s areas.
The second more fiscally conservative option is the one-floor building for youth, adjacent to a future multi-purpose center (built later). The children and choir would not move at this time.
Either option includes the open, central lobby and the portico.
No decisions will be made at this time. The priority of the church is to pay off the debt before embarking on new construction.
Please keep this lifted up for prayer, discussion, and discernment.
David Hall Begins as Interim Youth Ministry Director – David Hall will now be serving as our part-time Interim Youth Ministry Director for the next few months while we plan our next steps. We are so delighted that Coach Hall is willing to serve in this way and look forward to great days ahead for our expanding youth program!
