Nancy Stewart will be leading a new Lenten study entitled “Preparing My Heart for Easter: A Woman’s Journey to the Cross and Beyond” at 10:00 a.m. every Thursday morning beginning March 2nd. The class will meet in room 102 downstairs. This book dedicates the Lenten season to the women who followed Jesus. This 8-week Bible study of daily readings focuses on those who were eyewitnesses to his life and ministry – and who played important roles in the story of his resurrection you’ll also learn the significance of the Lord’s Supper, Maundy Thursday, the Ascension, Pentecost and many Easter hymns. Baby Bottle Boomerang – From Psalm 127:3 we read: Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him. Through the Real Life Pregnancy Center here in Marshall County, you have the opportunity to support moms, their babies’ needs and the medical clinic. Simply pick up a baby bottle located in baskets by the church office entrance and in the narthex (hallway outside the sanctuary by the tower entrance) and fill the bottle with coins, cash, or checks made to Real Life Pregnancy Center. Then return the filled bottles to the church office. All donations of $25 or more can receive a tax receipt; place your name and address in the bottle with the donations. For more information call 878-1300 or 486-2090.
Budget Fund Update – The current balance on our building mortgage is approximately $178,000, we presently have about $89,000 in our Building Fund (we keep at least $50,000 in it after making mortgage payments). $22,000 of that is committed to preliminary building committee designs and a temporary expansion for youth. So we are now lacking only approximately $111,000 in gifts to the Building Fund in order to pay off our building debt. Thanks so much for your generous giving to the Debt & Building Challenge during the last two years!
Wednesday Night Meal Tickets – We are going to start offering a meal ticket for Wednesday night dinners. This meal ticket allows you to purchase meals at a discounted rate. Adult meal tickets are 10 meals for $60.00 and a child ticket is 10 meals for $40.00. We will keep the meal tickets at church, so you won’t have to keep up with them. You may purchase your tickets from the office or on Wednesday nights. We are really excited about this and hope it is a benefit for everyone.
