Love and Respect in the Family – Come to room 117 at 9:30am and join the FAMILY Sunday School class facilitated by Mary and Josh Shumate. On June 19 they begin the new study Love and Respect in the Family, an eye-opening exploration of biblical principles on parenting that can help make families function as God intended. This book teaches you to: see love and respect as basic family needs, stop the family crazy cycle of conflict, parent in six biblical ways that energize your children, discipline defiance and overlook childishness, be the mature one since parenting is for adults only, work as a team according to the gender of the children, and become a loving parent in God’s eyes regardless of a child’s response.

Reach out to others by volunteering at the UMCOR Disaster Warehouse on Wednesday, June 22! We are seeking folks of all ages and all abilities to join us! We will meet at the church at 8:00 am, do volunteer work at the UMCOR Disaster Warehouse in Decatur until lunch, and eat in Decatur before returning home.
We all have the best of intentions…we WANT to do the right thing, we even set out to do the right thing but sometimes that just isn’t the outcome. In the Book of Romans Paul says we’ve all done it, we’ve all taken a wrong turn or two and we need help. In this profound epistle, Paul explores all the wrong options and takes us to the only correct one. The wrong solutions are pleasure and pride, the correct solution is Jesus Christ. According to Paul we are all saved by grace (undeserved, unearned favor) through faith (complete trust) in Jesus and His work. Starting Thursday, June 23rd at 10:00 a.m. Nancy Stewart will lead a weekly Bible study written by Max Lucado on the Book of Romans. It promises to be an interesting, inspiring journey through this life-changing letter from Paul to the people of Rome…..and to us today as well! The study will meet in the downstairs Sisters Classroom 101. We will begin with refreshments (everything’s better with food) and then start the study. If you would like more information give Nancy a call at 256/586-0351. Hope you can join us!

A Women’s Self Defense Class will be held June 25th, 2:30 – 7:00 pm at the Oneonta Public Library. There is a $15.00 refundable deposit. Contact Amy Woods to register. The class is for females 12 and up.
