New Wednesday Night Study begins March 30! “When it comes to famous queens of the Bible, we know the good one, Queen Ester and the bad one, Queen Jezebel. Now meet the WISE one, the queen of Sheba, who traveled to Jerusalem to test the mind and heart of the king.” That’s what the new Wednesday evening study “It’s Good to be Queen” by Liz Curtis Higgs is all about. This study will begin on April 6th following the Wednesday meal. Nancy Stewart will be leading, so please see her for a book.
Beginning March 31st Nancy Stewart will be leading a study each Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Sisters Classroom downstairs. The first study will be “Life Lessons with Max Lucado from the Book of Acts”. The study is open to anyone seeking a better understanding of this intriguing book of the Bible. If you have questions or need a study guide, please contact Nancy.
Debt and Building Challenge Update – Our debt has fallen below $395,000! We have come a long way in the last year and a half, when our debt was still $1.1 million. Thanks to everyone who has responded generously to the Debt and Building Challenge miracle! In November, our building loan matures and we must refinance any remaining debt. Please prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift, above and beyond regular giving, to the Building Fund to pay off this debt by November. We have begun a Building Committee to start planning much-needed youth space, classroom space, and multi-purpose space, but the congregation desires to “burn the note” before we build. With over 300 giving families and almost 1,000 members, we can do this!
The United Methodist Men’s breakfast will be Sunday, April 3rd, 7:00 am with Roger Cox (new member of the North Alabama FCA leadership team) Cost is $8.

Summer Sumatanga News – If your child is interested in attending summer camp this year, the 2016 schedule is online at www.sumatanga.org. Lee will be at Sumatanga the week of June 5th—10th if you’d like for your child to be there while someone from our church will be in the area. That week for grades 3rd– 4th there is a Taste of Camp 1 and 2, a Grand Camp 1 and 2 (grandparents and grandchild), and grades 1-3 Day Camp 2. There’ll probably be a church van traveling back and forth if you’d like your child to go. If you have any further questions, please contact Jennifer or Lee.
Our Missionary Receives Assignment – Our church member Jennifer Saunders has received her new assignment by the Mission Society. As soon as she raises some remaining funds, she will be going to Spain to complete her five year missions commitment. The name of the town is Antequera. It is in Andalucia in southern Spain. The missionary couple she will be working with is Billy and Laurie Drum and their website is www.drumsforchrist.org. She will be connecting with a local Methodist Church as well, and will be doing mission work with refugees. Our prayers go with her as she prepares for this new adventure in faith.
