The Easter Egg Hunt is today immediately after the 10:55 service. We will have a pot luck luncheon for the children and families participating in the Easter Egg Hunt and helpers. We will enjoy lunch together, the Bible story of Easter, and then hunting eggs.

The Arab Ministerial Association invites you to join other Christians in our community for our Wednesday Lenten Services this week at noon, Wednesday, March 23rd, New Brashiers Chapel Methodist Church with Junior Plunkett preaching. You are also invited to the community Easter Sunrise Service next Sunday at 6:15 am at Old Brasier’s UMC. Steve Funderburk is preaching and breakfast will be served afterward

There is NO WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUPPER this week.

Holy Week Services – Don’t forget our Maundy Thursday Seder Meal this week at 6:00 pm (reservations required). Our Good Friday Service of Light and Darkness is this week at 7:00 pm.

A limited number of Easter lilies will be used to decorate the church for Easter Sunday. Each 6 inch pot with single stem Easter lily costs $15. If you make a purchase you are free to take one of them home after the late service on Easter. Please turn in all donations to the church office, checks payable to AFUMC and marked “Easter lilies”, if you would like to help with this endeavor.

Beginning March 31st Nancy Stewart will be leading a Bible study each Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Sisters Classroom downstairs. The first study will be “Life Lessons with Max Lucado from the Book of Acts”. The study is open to anyone seeking a better understanding of this intriguing book of the Bible. The United Methodist Men’s breakfast will be Sunday, April 3rd, 7:00 am with Roger Cox (new member of the North Alabama FCA leadership team) Cost is $8.
Light it Up Blue begins Sunday, April 3rd please remember to wear blue (we will take a group pictures after each services). We’d like to encourage you to wear blue each Sunday and replace your porch light with a blue bulb during the month of April.

Kelley’s Rainbow Speaker – Carla Wood, the interim executive director of Kelley’s Rainbow, will be the guest speaker in the Thirsty Sunday School class on April 3rd (10:55 am) in room 125. All are invited!

The April book for the Christian Book Club is “Bronner” by Sherri Burgess. Copies of the book are available in the office for a donation of $10. The discussion meeting for it the book will be April 5th at noon in the Sisters in Christ classroom.

Joy Circle is starting a new book! Come join them! Joy Circle would like to invite any interested women to join them as they begin Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World (“finding intimacy with God in the busyness of life”) by Joanna Weaver, discussing the first chapter at their next meeting on April 8. Joy Circle meets the second Friday of each month at 11am at Grumpy’s (April 8th) in their lower level meeting room.

The Methodist Women will be on April 13th at noon in room 102. Bring a sack lunch if so desired as one of the perks of offering a meeting at 12 noon is to enable women that work in the community the opportunity to attend on their lunch breaks.

Room in the Inn is in need of drivers. We have “neighbors” who have jobs in the area and need to be transported to and from the job sites. If you have question or need more information please contact Martha Green at 256-506-4296.

Annual Relay For Life Yard Sale AFUMC will hold its annual Relay For Life yard sale on Saturday, April 30 from 8am to 2pm. (The actual Relay For Life is May 13 from 5pm to 11pm at Arab Soccer Fields. Relay For Life supports the American Cancer Society.) Donations for the yard sale will be accepted the week of the yard sale.

Summer Sumatanga News – If your child is interested in attending summer camp this year, the 2016 schedule is online at www.sumatanga.org. Lee will be at Sumatanga the week of June 5th—10th if you’d like for your child to be there while someone from our church will be in the area. That week for grades 3rd– 4th there is a Taste of Camp 1 and 2, a Grand Camp 1 and 2 (grandparents and grandchild), and grades 1-3 Day Camp 2. There’ll probably be a church van traveling back and forth if you’d like your child to go. If you have any further questions, please contact Jennifer or Lee.
