The Wednesday Night meal starts at 5:00 pm. The requested donation for the meal is $5 for adults and $3 for children. On December 2nd, the meal is enchiladas, Spanish rice, nachos, and dessert.

Please turn in Commitment Cards! – Last Sunday was Commitment Sunday and the conclusion of our “What Do You Hold in Your Hand?” stewardship emphasis. We thank everyone for your generous giving to the work of Christ through the church. If you did not have a chance to turn your commitment card in for both the General Fund and the Building Fund (the matching funds challenge), please mail your card or drop it by the church office as soon as possible during the coming week. Thanks so much!

Candy For Christmas & Beyond – Collection for candy for Christmas and Beyond will begin today. Collection containers will are in the narthex as well as in the conference room across from the church office. Individually wrapped candy only, please.

Charge Conference is Monday, November 30th at 6:30 pm. Church Council members are expected and church members are invited. We will meet in the sanctuary.

The Christian Book Club will meet on December 1st at noon. PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE. Bring a bag lunch to enjoy while we discuss the book. Copies of this month’s reading, “FOREVER CHRISTMAS”, are available in the church office. For more information, please call Joyce Marcotte at 256-224-9552.

Christmas and Beyond Meeting – A meeting for Christmas and Beyond will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd, at 7:15 pm in room 112, Class of Our Redeemer room. This meeting is for C&B leaders as well as all interested parties.

Children in grades 1st – 5th grade are invited to a series of acolyte training classes on Wednesday from 5:30-6:00 pm (Dec 2nd & 16th).

Need Volunteers for Christmas Parade – Serve hot chocolate at the parade on December 3rd! We need smiling faces to share hot chocolate and information about the church with the community. If you are interested, please contact the church office or sign up on the signup sheet in the narthex.

Live Nativity – If you’re interested in helping with the live nativity this year, please see or call Jami Russell (256-348-1325). Dates are December 11th & 12th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm. We need folks for non-speaking and non-acting parts, in one hour shifts.

The youth are selling poinsettias to be placed in the sanctuary on December 20th. Poinsettia sales begin Sunday, December 6th. The cost is $15. Poinsettias can be placed in honor or memory of loved ones and published in a booklet for Christmas Eve. For names to be included in the booklet the information is needed by 9:00 am on December 18th.

Ghana Soup Fundraiser – On Sunday, December 6th, we will have a soup fundraiser for our Ghana Mission Trip. Come, eat, and fellowship after the morning services, or pick up soup to go. Donations will be received to go toward food relief that we will provide on our mission trip!

“What is Chanukah? – On Sunday, December 6, join us in the fellowship hall 11:00 am to noon as the Maurer family presents an overview of this 8-day festival. Understanding the Jewish roots of our faith helps us better understand Jesus. The presentation includes history, menorah-lighting, Chanukah foods, and the dreidel game! It’s open to all ages, please join us!!”

The Emmaus Cluster meeting will be Tuesday, December 8th, at 6:30 pm at Albertville First United Methodist Church. The meal will be a Christmas Potluck Party.

The Young-in-Heart’s Annual catered Christmas lunch will be December 17th, at 10:00 am. The cost is $10 each. Ben Reep will present a program on John and Susanna Wesley.

Altar flowers 2016 – If you would like to place flowers in the sanctuary in memory or honor of someone, please call or come by the church office (256-586-5792). You can choose between Buddy’s Flowers or Scott’s Urban Earth.
