The Wednesday Night meal starts at 5:00 pm. The requested donation for the meal is $5 for adults and $3 for children. October 28th the meal is mummies, bat wings/swamp sauce, goulash, scary veggies, spooky desserts, and what’s in the punch?

“Like C.S. Lewis? NEW STUDY in the Thirsty Class (meets Sundays 10:50 am downstairs – look for blue dot over door). Famous for the fantasy world Narnia, Lewis is among the most well-known Christian scholars of the century. We will study 2 famous works: Start 10/18 “Mere Christianity” and 11/29 “Advent in Narnia.” Weekly meetings consist of prayer, fellowship, open discussion, scripture, & video segments. Adults ages 18-99 are welcome! Childcare provided upstairs. There is no fee for this study. Come join us!

New “Explorations” Class for Those Exploring AFUMC – Steve and Sandy West are offering a new seasonal four-week Sunday School class for guests, visitors, and new members of our church starting today. The class will be offered at 9:30 (Room 117) in the Fellowship Hall. We will share the story of American Methodism, basic beliefs, and the ministries of our church. There is no commitment to join, just come and learn and share.

The Ghana Mission team fundraiser is today. The Fundraiser is a dinner and silent auction. The doors will open at 5pm and we will begin serving at 6pm. You do not want to miss this “Fun”draiser which will feature a shrimp and crawfish boil along with other wonderful dishes and fun decorated tables! Space is limited so don’t wait to purchase your ticket for only $25. Please see a team member for tickets. If you are not sure who the team members are, please see our display in the entrance to the Fellowship Hall. We need your help to make the mission a success!

Want to hear about Pastor Steve’s Singapore trip? You are invited to a “brown bag conversation” with Steve West on Sunday, November 1, at 5:00 p.m. Just bring a little sandwich, fast food, or leftovers for your supper. Something to drink will be provided. We will meet informally in the Fellowship Hall for about an hour. Come hear about the Methodist Church in Singapore, his mission trip on behalf of the Upper Room, and the Academy for Spiritual Formation. All are welcome!

Any woman interested in the next steps for our UMW is invited to meet on Monday November 2, 2015 at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall.
The Book Club will be discussing Angels Walking by Karen Kingsbury on Nov. 3rd at 10:30 am. Copies of the book are still available from the church office or from Joyce Marcotte 256 224 9552. Suggested donation for this month’s book is $9.00.
UMM will be cooking breakfast on November 8th starting at 7:00 am. Invite your family and friends to come have breakfast cooked by the men and help support the Ghana mission trip. Brian Privett is the guest speaker. The cost is $8.

The Young-in-Heart’s Annual Thanksgiving covered dish dinner will be November 19th at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Turkey, dressing and gravy will be provided along with rolls and cranberry sauce. Please bring a dish to fill out the meal. A sign-up-list is located on the Hospitality Desk. The B-Team Angels have been invited as guests.

Directories have arrived – Our new church pictorial directories have arrived! If your family had your picture taken for the directory, you receive a complimentary copy. Please pick yours up today in the church office. They are marked with your family name.

Please sign cards for the homebound – In the prayer room are handmade cards for some of our congregation who are homebound or struggling. Please take some time in the prayer room praying, signing the cards, and perhaps enclosing a note to someone you know and care about. We will mail the cards next week.
